To use your custom domain for temporary email, you need to configure DNS records properly. This process requires access to your domain's DNS settings.

📋 Setup Instructions

Step 1: Add MX Record

Add the following MX record to your domain's DNS settings:

MX @ (or your domain) mail.mailscr.us 10 3600
Type: MX Name: @ Value: mail.mailscr.us Priority: 10 TTL: 3600

That's it!

This is all you need! Once the DNS propagates (usually within a few hours), your domain will be ready to receive temporary emails.

Step 2: Wait for DNS Propagation

DNS changes can take anywhere from a few minutes to 48 hours to propagate worldwide, but usually it's much faster. You can check the status using the verification tool above.

🔍 Common DNS Providers

Cloudflare

  1. Go to your Cloudflare dashboard
  2. Select your domain
  3. Go to DNS section
  4. Click "Add record"
  5. Select MX type and add the record above

NameCheap

  1. Log into your NameCheap account
  2. Go to Domain List
  3. Click "Manage" next to your domain
  4. Go to "Advanced DNS" tab
  5. Add the MX record as shown above

GoDaddy

  1. Log into your GoDaddy account
  2. Go to your domain settings
  3. Find "DNS Management"
  4. Add the MX record with the details above

✅ Verification

Once you've added the DNS records, use our verification tool above to check if your domain is properly configured. The system will automatically detect your domain once the MX records are properly set up.

After adding the MX record and waiting for DNS propagation:

  • Your domain will be automatically detected by our system
  • Emails sent to any address @yourdomain.com will be received
  • You can start using addresses like test@yourdomain.com immediately
  • All emails are automatically deleted after 7 days for privacy
  • No registration or setup required - it just works!

🛠️ Troubleshooting

Common Issues:

  • MX record not found: Double-check your DNS settings and wait for propagation
  • Wrong MX value: Ensure you're pointing to "mail.mailscr.us" (not anything else)
  • Priority issues: Use priority 10 for the MX record
  • DNS propagation slow: Try lowering TTL to 300 for faster updates
  • Still not working: Wait up to 48 hours for global DNS propagation
